RC505 MK2 BACKUP | How do I backup my Loopstation?

How to Backup your RC505 Loopstation:

Backing up your Loopstation from time to time can be very important for many reasons. For example if you want to import presets and want yours to be safe.

Good news: the task is easier than you might think!

1st:

Get a USB-B Cable (printer cable) and connect your MK2 with your Laptop/PC or Mac.

2nd:

On you RC505 MKII, open the menu (with the menu button) and scroll one increment to the right (with the right arrow button). There you are able to activate the USB-Mode of your Loopstation.

Now wait for the connection to your Computer (Your Loop will put on a light show).
You know it's done, once your Loopstation shows up in your Computers File/Device explorer.

3rd:

Browse to the RC505/Roland Drive that just appeared in your Computers File-Explorer and open it.

4th:

Just copy the Folder in that drive (the drive of your Loopstation) onto your Computer or an external drive - don't forget to name it properly, so you can find it in an event where you want to restore your saved settings.

5th:

End the process by exiting USB-Mode of the MK2 with the "Exit" button.

-- That's it --

Import a Backup:

Just connect back to you Loop by following steps 1-3 and drag and drop your saved file into your Loopstation Drive (In that process the name of the new folder has to be like the initial Loopstation folder you copied in step 4).

The Computer will likely ask you now if you want to replace the folder. Either agree - thus deleting the old/corrupted folder or simply rename the old folder.

That's it.
